The Centre for Human Environment (CHE) and its training arm the Institute for Development Studies (IDS) aspires to be a centre of excellence providing backstopping support to the actions of community-based and people's organisations and NGOs, in co-operation with Government and Donors and related development agencies. Using participatory approaches and networking, it supports the emergence of a robust civil society that can guarantee the right to sustainable livelihood security.
